Building Happiness with Earth

There are a couple small projects that are in need of some happy, muddy hands. One of them being a small structure made with an earth bag foundation, infilled with brush from the Manuka trees and a green roof using EPDM membrane. The frame of this structure was built by a group in a previous workshop.

You will learn how to recognise and test clay found on the land, how to prepare and apply the clay mixture to the walls with three different application layers. You will learn how to sculpt with the clay mix and mixing different colours. You will also learn ways to protect the plaster from the weather.

Vegetarian food is provided and accommodation is in tents.

Suggested minimum donation to help cover costs, $150.00 per person (not including shared boat cost).
